Can anyone tell me how to remove the inside door panel on a F550.
I have to change the handle and lock and when I pull the panel it seems to
be on very secure. ( I thought these were just pressed on) I do not want to break any type of clip.
I am not positive on this, Many door panels are held by push clips you pry out with a door panel tool, but I've done some ford busses at work and instead of clips around the door panel it had L shaped plastic as part of the back of the door panel (can't think of a better way to describe it) that fits into a slot in the inner door sheetmetal to hold it in. To remove had to first take out all screws and the door crank, look for some hidden possibly by the mirror cover as well. Door panels can sometimes have hidden screws like possibly by arm rests or behind a switch cover, so if somethings not giving, investigate and don't force. If not a visable screw holding the door crank on, it could either have an access cover hiding the screw on and you need to flip and rotate that cover to remove the screw, or there could be a c clip that you remove with a special door handle remover tool, by slipping it behind the plastic washer behind the crank and then turn the crank to get the clip to come loose. Once all screw and bolts are removed then can lift straight up to remove, The l shaped pieces on the back of the door panel will come out of the slots. I was expecting clips when I did the first one, and broke a couple of those L shaped pieces before I got behind with a light to see what was going on, and had to glue them back when I put it back on.
You didn't mention the year, maybe we can locate a diagram somewhere in a search showing screw locations and how to remove so you know better where to look..
They just pulled a f550 in the shop I work at today, but we don't have to mess with the door at all. It was brought in cause the utility bed needed new doors welded in cause they were rusted out.

Thanks Kenseth
I managed to find the two small screws holding it all together.
they were hidden behind the reflector and under the power window controls
Once I took these out the panel just lifted up and out
Just had to ask
If things get stuck I generally go and get a larger hammer or crow bar...LOL
I am getting older and getting tired of having to fix the things I break trying to fix things..
