Smile It's time

I have read the posts, talked to all the ones that know it all, for the last 2 years I have worked all the over time I can saved all my $ Now is the time for me to have my Powerstroke. I know that I want a 7.3 I am just looking for HONST thoughs I will use this truck for my retirement towing my 25' camper to see America. 1. Tranmission AUTO or 6 speed makes on diffrence to me pros or cons. 2. What to expect when buying less than 100000 mile 7.3. 3. Any other THINGS that I should know. and yes I know that disel is 3.43 here in W.V. THANKS

Try this link. It should help you out on what to check. Mike know lots about the 7.3. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...questions.html

I would go with the auto, and think about the DWR F-350 if you will be mostly towing. Then you can upgrade the TT and not worry about the truck.

Well congratulations on a job well done, now go and find your reward.

I would suggest a crew cab F350 dually, 6 speed, 4x4. Why? B/C, like Rick said, you can upgrade to a larger camper in a few years, and already have the truck to pull it with. the ZF-6 6 speeds are some of the best trannies around. Expect to spend upwards of $24 to $25K for a under 100K mile truck.

I read this article probably 5 times before starting to look mine. Really helped out on picking out the poorly maintained ones.
