Well hiding is really a non relavent term, more like covered up in work, with very little time off. Working on correcting that as we speak though. (transfering back to land)
Let me add a correction to my post, regular studs are a little better than the bolts, but the permanent fix for this is a fixture that hydraulicly pushes the head down/streches the studs evenly all at one time, then the nuts are hand tightened and the hydraulic rams are released. Germans have been doing this for years, it is the reason that the liners in large bore wet sleeve blocks never leak without a gasket between it and the block, irreguardless of how many time the head has been removed or installed. The studs on the other hand have a life span of 5 sets of streches. It is always crushed equally, every time.
