I own a 1979 Ford F250 4x4, manual. Anybody know a pair of headers that will fit this make with this engine. I've tried five pairs from summit and still know luck. It either wont clear the clutch linkage or hit the frame on the pasenger side. Help me out please. thanks
I hear the Hooker Headers tend to cause a big problem to install. You end up having to lift the engine off its mounts to get them in.
Hedman Headers from what I have read will actually go in pretty easy and you don't have to lift the engine or remove anything.
Sanderson Headers are block huggers and the FC3 model will fit. There is a guy on the forum that has them on his truck and says the fit very easy.
These are the only ones I know about. I just ordered the Sanderson FC3 yesterday for my truck. Can't wait to get them installed. I have the 78 F250 2wd though.
I've got the same problem. I put a 302 in my '78 f250 and cant find a set that will work. A set of Flowtechs for an 80-86 truck was an inch away from working but they hit the clutch linkage
I think it's the clutch linkage causing the troubles... Doesn't the Hedman or some other header spec page say it's only for automatics??? I have Mustang shorties in my 79, auto 2wd.
