Heater Core issue
I've got this little trickle of green fluid on my floor mat. Damp insulation under the glove box. How hard is the core to replace.

Thank you for your support. Once getting into it, removal is quite simple.

I really rely on the write ups that can be found on this site and others.
Good luck, but I hope you don't need it.

What I did notice, what is the easiest way to disconnect the hose clamps? I'm ready to just cut the pipe and yank everything out.

I just went outside with a flashlight and looked at those hose clamps ???? I'm baffled. At least this will bump you to the top.

Spoke with an aquaintance awhile ago. There is a special tool or squeeze the clip until it pops. Then go to the next and do it again. Becareful when pulling off. There is an oring and a plastic ring then another oring. If lost or broken, you have to go buy the repair kit. Probably a whopping $5.00. They are a pain in the rear to get off. My wife didn't help very much trying to hold the core in place. I suggest getting a neighbor or good friend to do the holding. Things do fly if ya don't.

Tom,
Thanks for posting back. You have taught me something. If I have to remove the heater core I will pull the heater hoses first.

The repair kit actually costs $12.00. Not as cheap as I was thinking. The job is complete. No more leaky heater core.
