Fuel return pressure

A few days back someone asked if anyone knew the fressure of the fuel return line. There does not appear to be much pressure but it can sure puke the fuel out when the line is not connected.

Please don't ask me how I know.

OK, Yeaterday I installed my fuel filter with the updated heater. one (1) hour later I am puking fuel out the bottom. I pull the filter and find that the water sensor is cracked. replaced that reinstalled the filter. Start the truck, fiddle with the radio, hear fluid running. Shut off truck and notice fuel return line not connected. It can really puke fuel but luckily it doesn't spray it on the fire wall. Changing the thermostat went well.

OK TJ, how was your day??

Well I guess its a good thing fuel is cheap now a days!! ouch!

Ok so my story starts like this. Got a new Dp-tuner chip to try out (only testing don't get to keep it) and its really small with no switch. Get my chip out and plugged in the new chip. No WTS light. bad conenctions. try it again same thing. So as I am removing it the second time I DROPPED IT INTO THE PCM!!!! So now working outside (20 degree's or so) I have to pull the PCM out. I was at Rick's shop and it ended up taking up about an hour of messing around and getting fingers warm to get the PCM out since the inner fender is in the way. Got the chip out cleaned the contacts really well then put everything back together. I was close to just cutting a whole with the mini sawzall in the inner fender. I was not very happy that a 10 minute deal took an hour. Plus Rick had stuff to work on that would actually make him money!!

But my truck is testing a new tune from Jody but most of all for me is that my loping idle is gone and the truck idle smooth a silk with the 10k mod gone. Aside from that I am not real crazy about the tune but I am only testing one very small part of it.

So was it the 10k mod tim that was giving the loping Idle? or something in the new tune that corrected it

just curios

Rog that hurts!! I don't do well when my fat fingers get cold!! I'm a sissy when it comes to working on vehicle outside!! I am spoiled!!

Waljon my start up lope idle was caused by running the split shot injectors on single shot programming. I had the chip burned for splits shot injector and it doesn't lope now. The 10K mod helped the loping to not be as bad at startup. But that was just a bonus for the testing.

It was my fault he was outside,, I didn't think it a good Idea to start the truck with the chip laying inside the PCM ...It ended up taking three of us ,, but ,,,,

In the end.....

PCM ...(0)...Us

Yes that inner fender was taken care of with a finely tuned 2 foot long screw driver and a skilled worker on the handle!!
