460 engine VIN codes

460 engine VIN codes
I have a 460 out of a 79 F-150 2x4.In the literature I've found it shows 2 possible engines.An A code and a J code for the 460 engine.Can anybody tell me the differance in the two.The J code engine seems to be the rarer of the two also,and that just happens to be the one I have.any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't help you with your question, I'm sorry. However, I do have a question for you. Does that truck have power steering? If it does, do you still have the power steering pump bracket? If you do, would you be willing to get rid of it? I need it for an engine swap I did. Thanks.
