I think I'm going to be in the exclusive club in this poll. I'm seeing about 42 at WOT. I don't look at the gauges that much going down the 1/4 mile so I can't be really intelligent about it, but I have seen 42, and I know my veins aren't sticking.

Oz--get a real gauge--LOL and remember from science class that a measuring device is only accurate +/- one unit of the smallest increment calibrated, and who knows how close these really are. IMHO I don't think you really have that much to worry about. Hammer Down.

Maybe I should also add that I don't have a stock turbo or sticks, although it is a specially prepared VGT from Matt at Spartan Diesel.

I've heard it said that every degree of timing added raises cylinder pressures exponentially vs. what additional boost adds to the equation. I'm running less timing than stock and more boost because of the added fuel from the sticks to help with EGT's. Needless to say it hauls serious A$$!!!

I'm currently seeing 22-25 tuned with SCT from DFuser w/EGR off. I was seeing 28-30 with the Flashpaq tuner. Stock I believe it was maxing out at about 25.

I'm actually glad my boost is not as high as it was before! At first I thought something was wrong. I was informed that I'm not hitting the higher boost levels because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to make the increased power I am making now with the additional fuel and timing...also, having the EGR off allows boost to be made sooner.

Even with lower boost my truck is much more responsive and powerful than before.

the boost is actually easier on the top end of your motor. More fuel and timing starts to be alot more cylinder pressuere which means streeeaaaatched headbolts!

That's why I am currently running only a 65hp Agg Tow tune for my daily driver. Seems to respond well with my set up.

Talking Data log

This graphic represents the highest boost portion of a 0 to 83 mph run in 4.4 seconds (I think I got the math right)... It's like getting shot out of a cannon... This is only the Gen-Econ tune! Less than 2 milliseconds later @ 83 mph, the boost dropped to 16psi. BTW, the boost readings logged from the X3 are consistent with the logged levels in the Commander.

Did you read post #24? See if Eric's tunes are similar to Matt's (Hybrid Race or equivalent). If so, then no problem...

I usually drive my truck pretty easy, unless the cruise downshifts on a hill I rarely see much over 10 psi for boost. After having read this post last night I decided to see what max boost was on the way home tonight.

There is this one hill, fairly long and decently steep that I could put the hammer down and have a load on her to see what happened. I have the OEM intake, MBRP 4" cat back and Matt's "EGR on" General Econ tune loaded. I started at about 50 mph and mashed it, going up the hill I hit about 31 psi and 1200+/- for EGT and in the upper 80s for speed. That was more than enough for me and I backed out of it before cresting the hill. I don't want to get a 4 ton truck airborne....
