Humor for OUR TROOPS.....
There's a rumor that MRE's are going to advance through yet one more evolution -
In addition to being precooked, prepackaged, and so on;
The new version will be PRESPICED, PREHEATED, PREDIGESTED, and PRE-EXCRETED!
All you have to do is rip them open and DUMP THEM DOWN THE NEAREST LATRINE!
-HOWEVER-
THEY STILL TASTE THE SAME...

Knock it if you want to, but I ate those things for 6 years. When I got out and got married I lost weight and yearned for a good MRE. I never ate one of those that was burnt.
Thank goodness she's got the cooking thing down now.
P.S. Don't leave the Navy & Jarheads out when you support the troops. Next time say Latrine/Head.

Ah - I neglected to mention the menu for NAVY and MARINE forces:
1) Pork Adobo
2) Beef Adobo
3) Chicken Adobo
4) Leftover Adobo.... (Also known as "I just don't Nobo")

A man of infinite wisdom. You just seem to have an answer for everything.

Absolutely. Nothing gets me in a bad mood faster than having coffee with no cream. I can do without the sugar, but there better be real cream.

If you weren't so dang far away, I'd love to drop in for Lumpia!
I've been to Filipino weddings, and they were the greatest!

Let me know when you are up this way and I'll warn my mom. She'll get on it and enlist the help of my sister... As for weddings, heck, I can go to any family dinner and bring home enough food to eat lunch and dinner for a week.

MREs nowadays are good enough to snack on. I like 'em and have cheerfully eaten them for months.
The old days of the dreaded Ham Slice that was recalled (check packet for swelling...) and the dried Pork Patty were rather nasty.

submarine force, best food in the deployed military.
MREs, love them, eat them every now and then at home. great for camping, road trips.
cheap before, expensive now.
taste pretty good considering what they are and are suppose to do.
