what would yall recommend by way of fluid for a mazda five speed? last flush i mixed in a little 50 weight and it shifts a little sticky when cold. brands?
The fluid in the M50D should be ATF, I use Valvoline ATF the quivalent to dexron/mercon III or V doesn't matter its a manual. For the clutch fluid, its just standard brake fluid.

P.S. It was -40 this morning, felt like I had tar down there But, it started up (a bit slow) and ran fine.
Make sure it's DOT3, not DOT4. There IS a difference. The seals/pistons in the brake/clutch systems are not compatible with DOT4, or so I've been led to believe.
Yep I meant the DOT 3 stuff, NOT the DOT 4. There is a difference and it will hurt things. Check the label. I haven't seen too much DOT 4 but it will probably be more common, just like with the dexron III vs Dexron V stuff.
As to bigsky's comment, well they shift, maybe their slow, maybe they won't take alot of power, but there sure were a lot of them and they held up. My second gear is a bit rough, so maybe the synchro is going out. But other than that it has been a good tranny, and I have known others that have abused them and they held up.
