Air flow, throtle response

I have a 99 psd, 390,000 miles. Starts fine, I get a mile down the road, while maintaining speed I air leaking and no throtle response. But if I let off the throtle and put it to the floor the noise goes away and I have throtle response again. It does that for about the first 20 minutes of driving, then everything is fine. Engine light does not come on. Help please?

Hello, welcome to FTE. That is a common thing that is enabled to help the engine speed up the warm-up process. there is a butterfly valve in the turbo that closes off, holding about 90% of the exhaust gasses in. This helps hold heat in. It's normal to do it, either you can unplug the sensor and never hear it again (defaults to open) or you just deal with the thing

If this is an EBPV problem, It can become stuck closed. Mine did it when the actuator rod end fell off of the valve. The valve closed and stayed that way when it tried to open. Result: no power until it finally opened due to pressure.
