I'm currently running 3 225 series tires and 1 225 series square tire. Its a square because it is out of round and wobbles and vibrates! The tires have good tread but are dry rotted and need to be replaced.
I'd like to put wider tires on this truck. I plan to put front and rear sway bars and good quality shocks on down the line.
I would like to get the BFG radial t/a tires that are very common on these older vehicles. I've always had good luck with BFG. The only problem is they only offer a 255 or a 295 width tire that is the height that i want.
Do you guys know if a 295 will fit in the rear without hitting the inner and/or outer fender? I'm sure going from a 225 to a 255 would be nice, but man, 295 would be sweet!
never seen a bfg get bald before the cords break, id never buy another set of them there over priced and dont last. id get a set of goodyears or firestones or even some cheap off the wall brand before bfg
I was looking at the Kumho Venture ST tires on tirerack. They looked good, unfortunately i missed the $30 closeout sale!! The fronts would have been 30 bucks each!!
Oh well, maybe next time. I'll check out those goodyear/firestones.
I had good luck with my BFG mud tires on my previous truck.
I actually love the T/A's. My girlfriend and I run them on our hot rods and they perform great. No complaints. My uncle runs them on his too. Several of my friends also run them. Popular tire and they have done all of us well.
Not positive if you can get the size you want in them (I bet you can) but I have also run Kelley Chargers as well.

I had 295-70-15s T/A's on the back of My 67 F100. I was looking for some pics but I put them somewhere after My Daughter totaled it. I had 85% of the tread gone when She attacked that concrete bridge.
