Question Rear Scraping Noise

I just bought a '99 f-150 4x4 last weekend and the guy said the brakes had jus been redone, but for the past couple days theres been a scraping sound coming fro the pass side rear brake, it doesnt change with braking, but becomes more constant the faster you go, oh and did i mention its not always there!!! haha confusing, any help would be appreciated...

Could be a wheel bearing. Could also be a driveline issue like a bad u joint or bearing. My bad u joints sounded like it was coming from the side at first until it got more prominent.

Wheel bearings tend to make some racket also. Both mostly vary with speed as well.

well if you have rear disc, the parking brake shoes are inside the hat on the rotor. i had a grinding noise and it turned out to be that the shoes for my parking brake had seperated and the linings were constantly rotating and grinding around inside the rotor hat. just a suggestion. i dont use my parking brake alot so i just removed the material and was good to go.

150mudder y would you not use your parking brake. It takes the strain off the tranny and rear end when parked on an angle. Its just laziness not to use it in my opinion.
