Ever since I got this truck I have noticed a knock when ever I was making a turn at a steep down hill angle. It use to just be at this one hill next to the house and the last few days it has been doing it a few more spots and today I just noticed it on some rough railroad tracks I cross every day going straight. I am pretty sure it isn't the 285s bumping way to loud, what could it be?
Justin, I about willing to bet you have some sway bar bushing going bad. You can check by removing your swaybar for a couple of days and see if you still hear the knocking. I finally went to poly bushing to get mine to stop.
No problem. I drove mine for almost 2 weeks without the swaybar, Just decided to wait on the new bushings before reinstallling it. Didn't notice much differance in the handling.
Just gotta watch going into curves at a high speed is all isn't it? Barry do you know the difference from a Reg 4x4 and an off road? Just upgraded suspension about it?

Don't tell me that one Austin heh that was my first thoughts.... well I think those are actually covered on the aftermarket warrenty that came with the truck.
The only difference between the 4x4 and the 4x4 Off Road is the Off Road has heavier duty shocks plus skid plates for the x-fer case the fuel tank.
Hmmm, I did not know this. I figured it was just a decal. I would almost bet there is nothing heavier duty about my shocks but the skid plates are there.
I added the skids plates and Bilstien shocks. I guess I can now call mine Off Road. But I'm not puttin' the decal on. As a matter of fact I took the 4x4 decal off.
