Now granted I have a 2007 4.2 but it's quite peppy for a v6. My question is can you bark the tires in either v6's or v8's in this model? If I'm at a stop and slam the gas I just slowly take off. I was attributing this to the throttle by wire is that correct or is it just because the 4.2 is sluggish.
I've had v8's in the past - mind you they had a true throttle and not electronic, and I could easily bark them. Granted it was a v8 but I just can't believe that I'm not able to at least bark them. What do you think?
The electronic throttle sucks!
In a 5.4 you can only get a little scratch on dry pavement with a straight take off. There is a built in throttle/traction control from what I understand, and a programmer like the edge will get rid of it.
Well, my F-150HD with a 5.4L 3V and 4.10s will powerbrake and smoke 'em for about 20 feet. It's still bone stock. I was kinda surprised but it brought back some nice memories of my muscle car days in high school.
I have a 4.6 V8 with 33's, 4:10's, and a programmer and I can't break them at all. That throttle delay is just terrible. My truck can move nice once I am going, but it just doesn't take off quick.
I seem to remember a thread that explained how to improve that throttle delay. It had something to do with turing on the ingnition and holding the pedal to the floor or something like that.

How do you like your edge? If my buddy comes through and buys my jet ski I am going to be gettin one.

Someone help me out.
I remember that post. He said to hold the pedal to the floor, turn the key on and wait for the bells to stop. Then start the truck. Don't know what holding the pedal down does. When I tried this it would knock pretty hard when it started so I stopped doing it.
