spreadbore or square bore?

which is better for fuel economy?

i here the spreadbore is better because of the small primaries but am not sure. would anybody like to clarify this for me?

Personally don't have experience with the spreadbore. Just read an article that when cruising around you run on the smaller primaries. so basically a two barrel until the secondaries open up. Racers tend to use the square bore because the primaries and secondaries are the same size. Better air/fuel distribution through out the manifold.

I get better fuel economy with the older Holley style Ford Square bore 4bbl than I do with a Ford 2150 2bbl

But that's because of the way I drive.

do holley carburetors get worse gas mileage than say an edelbrock?
If so why?

thats just what every body tells me
