AOD Transmission problems
I have a 1987 AOD transmission. Has a new TCI valve body, cluches, lip seals, bearings, pump, servos, etc. TV pressure is set correctly.
The problem is it shifts 1st to 2nd, but not into 3rd. Could I have the wrong length 1st/ rev servo?

I had the AOD on my old Bronco. I rebuilt it one time and it would not shift out of first. I thought I would drive it like that till the next weekend because I didnt have time to work on it. (I lived about 1 1/2 miles from work) One day, all of a sudden it shifted in to second. Once it did that, it wasnt so hard to live with and I was sick of working on it, so I kept driveing. It worked like that for about a week. Then, all of a sudden it shifted to third and OD. It worked good after that. I dont know what caused it. Some trans guys told me it may have been dirt. (new fluid and filter)
