96 exp. V8 AWD 100,000 mls. I have a aode/w, I think it is the same as the 4r70w Tran and experience delayed drive and a loss of drive coming out of a stop. When the tran is engaged it works flawlessly until coming to a stop. I replaced all clutch plates, friction plates and the overdrive band. On teardown I found that the forward clutches were flat on one side. After a 30 mile test drive I started to experience the same symptoms as before the rebuild. When going from park to drive or any other gear it needs throttle in order to slide into 1st. I just pressure tested it and found that it is around 45 psi in all the gears. The range for this transmission is around 50-65. The problem is not found in reverse and that pressure is within tolorance. My next step is to start checking the contents of the valve body and the internal electronics with an ohm meter. Do any of you have any input to help me troubleshoot this problem? Food for thought...Oil pump? servo? Blown gasket or seal? Also...Reverse acts normal. Thanks[FONT=arial][COLOR=darkred]
I have pulled the valve body and did ohm tests on the internal electrical components. I found the my mcc or tcc selenoid is reading 13 ohms when it should be reading 1-3 ohms. The tott sensor is not reading anything and should read 30,000 ohms. I have these parts on orfer and plan on replacing them tomorrow. Any feedback would be great.
I had the same type of problem with an older torque converter ,when it was cold it would work great and when it warmed up the fluid gets thinner and it started to slip a little on acceleration.
New torque converter solved it.
