I have a orange line coming off of the passengers side of the carb to a metal tube. The problem is the metal tube is rusted and broke, is this a vacum line and were does it go to. also were is the best placeto get a new one.
If you look on the exhaust manifold below and to the left of where the carb is mounted, there is a hole in the manifold for the steel line to go in,appearantly for heated air for the carb.
You can fabricate a new one using steel brake line available from any parts house.Just take the remains of the old one to get the correct size OD.

The port coming out of the air horn (high up on the carb) at an angle is the filtered air for the choke stove. It is the one that attaches to a metal line and runs down to the bottom of the exhaust manifold.
The distributor (timed) vacuum port comes out of the base of the carb and has a rubber tube all the way to the distributor, not a metal line, at least not from the factory.
Where exactly on the carb is the port you are talking about?
