Did anybody watch the Shootout practice tonight. Smoke and Kurt are at it again(still). Smoke knocked Kurt into the wall, and Kurt caught up with him on pit road, and slammed him. They went to the big trailer. Don't know what happened, if anything. If they are driving this way in practice, the shootout may be interesting.
They had a couple of wrecks. The drivers still don't have a handle on the COT. Still in a learning curve. jd
I did not get to see it but just saw the replays on the local news. I was kind of happy Jeff Gordan and Jimmy Johnson wrecked also and had to get backup cars. Gordan said he did not even bring one. So he had to wait for it to get there. Hopefully it will continue like this cause I would sure like to see some of the Roush boys winning some races.
Untill they start using factory body parts again instead of this car of tomarrow, I'm an X nascar fan, I'm boy cotting the whole deal.
That will never happen. The factory cars of today are turds anyway. I wouldn't want to watch them do anything. I agree on the spec cars tho. It takes away from the tradition, but that's the way it is. It will be no different than IRL, and CART, and you can see where they are today.

Ford and Chrysler are at a slight disadvantage engine wise. Chevy has the new R07 engine, and Toyota's engine is also based on the Chevy design. Ford will not have a new design until 2009, and Chrysler later this year, or in 09. jd
There are plenty of stock cars that are not slow. Mustang GT500, Dodge Viper, Corvette, Camaro, etc..
I would love to see those cars race it out, instead of pretty much the exact same cars with different stickers race.
These cars are not the same "stock cars" we are talking about. The vette, Viper, etc., are sports cars. You can watch all the above race in various categories. The Camaro is no longer mfg. There is a new one on the blocks, but is in limited production if it is even available. jd
Isn't it funny that everytime there is anything related to NASCAR being mentioned, you get the regular " I lost interest when the cars weren't stock anymore". And the ironic thing was that the first "non-stock" car, was Bill Elliots Ford Thunderbird. ( correct me if I'm wrong )
Anyway, back to the shootout. Pretty wild for practice. I can't believe the front end suspension travel on these cars. You can see the front wheels jumping going thru the corners. Pretty unsettling for a driver in a pack of cars at 190.
I was hopping to see Kurt get his nose punched in again by Smoke. You could see Tony trying to unbuckle as fast as he could when they were driving into the pits. And the drama starts.....
If your one who likes to watch NASCAR for crashes, your in luck.

They have a series like that already. I believe it's called the LeMans series. I know SPEED tv is involved also. You see factory prepped Vettes, Mustangs, and soon Challengers and Camaros. ( i hope )
