A few days ago I was at the auto parts house and a blonde came in and asked for a “seven-hundred-ten”. The guy's behind the counter looked at each other, confused. Then they asked her, “What is a seven-hundred-ten?”
She replied, “You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine? She said she had lost it and needed a new one…” She went on to say she didn’t know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there and looked important.
Confused, the parts manager gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it and wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had its hood up and asked “is there a 710 on this car?” She pointed and said, “Yes of course, its right there.”
It's about as good as the blonde joke about the vending machine. "Excuse me, miss, but why are you so happy about getting a soda?" "Duh, I'm WINNING!!!"
Any good sales guy should have told here that they have discontinued the 710 model due to EPA regulations. The new 712 models are much less efficient and reduce the power in the engine, but if she would leave him her number he would find a goo 710 part for her.
I told a girl in high school her blinker was flashing real fast cuz she was low on blinker fluid. She was a litle upset the next day after she actually went to the parts store and asked where the blinker fluid was. Man I wish I had been there for that.
Told my mom that the rattling under her truck was a bad muffler bearing... Best part is I know all the guys at the local parts store and gave them a heads up. They played along and sold her a wheel bearing. I nearly died when she got home with it.
Another kind of creul thing is to just pull parts and stack them in front of the car ( old parts ). Leave them there and tell them the car should be fine. The car was over engineered anyways.

Sad thing is that there actauly is such a thing as mufler bearings, thats what volvo calls the clamps that hold the stacks on the old whit/volvo cab overs.
