Hey guys, on my 2000 White Expedition Sport my step bars are pretty rusty they are gray in color I was going to replace them with Westin Platinum Series Stainless Steel ones I found them for $310.00.

Depending on how much salt they use on the roads in Chicago, I live in Minnesota and have not had very good luck with any aftermarket step bars without coating them. I went through a set per year until I coated a set on an old truck I had in 98. I had them coated with Line-x. I sold the truck in 06 and even after almost eight years the bars still looked like new. If you don't mind the black finish I think this is the way to go. Hope this helps.
I bought my 98 without the factory running boards and installed Smittybuilt. The ones I got are chrome but if I had it to do over again I would have gone with the black and had them powder coated. Not much chance of rust here in Phoenix.

Qualitywise theyre excellent..price is a little high but able to beat 310 based on what you're looking for
Check Summit Racing also. I just picked up a set of their polished stainless steel nerfs for my 05 for $149. They were having some sort of sale on them, and they're actually really nice.
I checked summit first, thats where I buy most of my stuff from.
They had the Westin Platinum Series Stainless Steel ones for $460
I got them for $310. Same model # too.
