I can see the TTB D44 lasting with 38x15s if you don't ever use 4wd, but get on it once, and boom!
A solid axle swap would be the thing to do, but not always practical, b/c it is so expensive. The cheaper, faster way to get wheeling would be to not go as big of a lift, and run slightly smaller tires.
I have had no problems out of my ttb running 36" tsl's. I have replaced 2 tcases, 1 rearend, 1 clutch, several slave clyinders, and an engine. I have put the ttb thru hades and back. It does need work now. Ball joints need replacing and I found a bad ujoint in the passanger side axle. I do plan on a sas as soon as I get my parts and my shop built. This isnt a project that I want to attempt in the back yard. So untill then I am stuck with the ttb. If it brakes owell I have 2 more for parts.
I know I can't run the ttb and have the truck that I want. I want my truck to be the baddest truck around. I hope I will be able to write some of my mods off as advertising for my buisness. If I can look out. The sky will be the limit.
