yea i kno everyone usually posts about problems on here, just yesterday i was cruisin around the mesa just outside of ABQ, pretty fun terrain, but when i decided i was getting a bit cold my heater was blowing hot air, it just blows cold, i took a look around the engine bay trying to look for a loose vacuum line or somthin, but i couldnt find anything, so i was wondering if someone could point me to where the heater is at, because i think somehtin might of come loose or it just crapped out, it blew hot as hell the other day, thanks, im new to the whole Ford thing
the vacuum controls the direction of the air to defrost or floor--- for temperature, the first thing to check is the **** on the dash. pull it off and see if it is stripped or properly turning the shaft... the next think would be the blend door. there is an electric motor above the transmission hump, below the radia area. the motor is controleed by a variable voltage from the **** above, that moves a plastic door inside the duct. the door mixes hot air from the heater with cool outisde air to get the temp you want.
well i read wut you said, and im still lost where to look, ill take a look in the owners manual for the truck, but i still dont know where all this stuff is actually on the truck
first pull off the "heat ****" and see if it is spinning on the shaft..
second, read the post below to get to the blend door under the dash, on top of the transmission---- the post said---
"The blend door actuator is pretty easy to get to. just pull off the black plastic cover on the transmission hump. The Right side dash support must come off. The actuator is held to the bottom of the A/C box by 3 or 4 screws accessible by a ratchet. Then just pull straight down on it."
