460 questions

just bought a 88 f250 with 460 & c6 i dont know what year the 460 is it was swapped in but its carbed.

what operating temp should it be at, it would depend on the termostat right?

i havnt been down to touch the truck yet but when my friend picked it up he said it stayed at 160 and he drove it a little today and said when he shut it off it was at 210f

im going to flush out the radiator and change the oil too that should help.

how many quarts of oil do these take?
also what kind of oil do you recommend?

hi, engine temp i like around 180-190f , as for oil this varies from engine condition to local
climate, old engine heavy oil, hot climate heavy oil etc. generally a 25w/50w oil will be
o/k for normal use. about 5 litres/1 gallon is average capacity depending on sump, 2wd or
4wd etc.
