vibration after adding leveling kit and add a leafs in back
I added a leveling kit to the front a few days back and then the rear was down. Now I added add a leafs to back and after that when taking off seems I notice a vibration or roughness. Never had this before and not really did I notice until I added the back. Any help appreciated. 2003 F250 Diesel Crew Cab.
Thanks in advance.

verify the condition of your u-joints first - then look to your pinion angle, it may have changed or may have to be adjusted to make up for the increased angle the driveshaft is relative to the input and output shafts.
Your truck has a two piece rear driveshaft that is supported by a center bearing. Usually when you raise the rear of the truck you have to add shims to that center bearing.
As a starting point, add 1/4" of shim for each inch that you raised the rear suspension. This may fix the drive-away shudder problem entirely.
As DumbEngineer mentioned, if the extra leafs changed the pinion angle too much it may be necessary to add a tapered shim to the underside of the spring pack. This is usually needed only when the rear lift is 4 inches or greater. I would shim the center bearing first.
Thanks for all the help. When we speak of shims are they some special shims just for this or just something to lower it the right amount . This is suppose to have raised it 2 1/2 inches. Also if it was U joints wouldn't it already have been doing this. You can probably tell I am no mechanic.
Again thanks to everyone.
worn u-joints could have been there but not noticable. by raising the truck and changing the angle they roll through could have made them noticable. not saying that that is it - but you always gotta start with the basics.
if its a vibration only when you accelerate its axle wrap seen it before did it myself. tighten your u-bolts from when you did the add a leaf and you'll notice it dissappearing
id say carrier bearing. i have a steep road to my house and mine did it stock going up the hill empty, till i lifted 4/2.5 and put the pro-comp angled carrier drop then it stopped it completely even pulling a enclosed snowmobile trailer
Anyone familiar with the shims (Ford # EOTZ-4A209-A)? I think I am ready to try them. I called the Ford Stealer today and he priced them at $40 some dollars each. Are they more or less just a spacer or something very special?
Thanks,
