Got the notice on Friday Feb 1st and I called the local Ford dealer on Monday Feb 4th to set up a date. I got the truck in the next day Feb 5th! I work right next to the Ford dealer and i droped it off before work and walked back before lunch time and it was done. I never touched the CPS (never failed) but i bought a spare right when the price droped. I paid about $20 bucks w/ tax and stuck the spare CPS in my glove box. I didn't care about the refund since it was only a few bucks and figured i would have them install a brand new one for me for free and i didn't have to get my hands dirty.LOL SO i have a new one installed thats to Ford and still have a spare inside the glove box.

I had mine done last Friday, all I did was drop by my local stealership because I was in the area asked if I could get my CPS recall done. They said yes pulled a mechanic off a 6.0 and 20 mintues later it was done. Hate the sales department there but that was a pretty good service department. Best part was watching the sales men drool over my truck when my wife went out to get it and pull it around, definatly a Kodak moment.

I'm the third owner and didn't register truck with Ford. I went to the local dealership, and they looked up the VIN number and asked if wanted it put in on the spot. I was on the go so I set up an appointment for tomorrow. Apparently they are REALLY good at replacing them! I had bought one of the $28 ones a couple of months ago and no longer have the receipt - I'll leave it behind the seat just in case.

I thought so too lol, they had plenty of them sitting on the lot 6 03-04s setting there. Two 08s as well a 450 and a 250 thought that was pretty interesting. I bought a replacement 30 dollar CPS back in August lost the receipt I keep it in the truck incase I ever runacross a fellow stroker in trouble.

As i was shopping for a "newer" PSD in the begining of 2007 I stopped by a few Ford dealers. Everyone wanted to sell me a 6liter. I told them NO 6liters, 7.3liter only. I found the one in my signature at a local used truck lot. I love this truck and will never trade it for anything else.

Thats how I ended up finding mine, the 7.3s they did have they wanted an arm and a leg for them, but watch them jump at you when you bring a 7.3 in there, the stealership I was at had 00-03 F-250s at the top of the board for most wanted trades.

I walked in with my old one in my hand yesterday and asked if they would take care of biz or if I needed to reinstall it for them to play nice. They gave me a new one straightaway and I walked out with both units. I now have three spares. No problems. They just needed the vin and mileage for accounting.

The dealerships around here keep telling me they dont have it in stock to replace. Its the typical "check back next week" crap.

Still no letter from FOMOCO, but I have recieved my reimbursement of $683 that I filed for on the day the recall was first mentioned on FTE. Oh yeah also in DEC. got the new CPS and installed it myself from my local dealer, all he wanted was the vin, and mileage so he could file recall claim.
