has anyone done this yet i see JBG sells em and it definatly affordable but what model calipers would you use it says to use GM but were chevy and gmc still the same in the 80's? and i see they go by weight rating wonder if it matters if you go with the higher gvwr>?
He only sells the brackets and hardware to complete a rear disc conversion, but it appears that there are a few different manufacturers you can use parts from (GM, Cadillac, Lincoln), depending on your application. Use search words "ford brake." Hope this helps.
the kit on JBG is just under 300 so the cost would come to maybe 500 after everything is done. but i have a D60 rear and 8 lug pattern so i am limited.
plus jeffs kits come with the rotors, mounts and hardware. just gotta get calipers and pads

Reason: wrong prices
If you have the Dana 70 rear axle, you can use the kit that diy4x.com sells. You can use either the rear calipers from a '76-'78 Caddy El Dorado with parking brakes, or the front calipers from a '73-'87 3/4 ton 4x4. Just make sure you use the SMALLER piston calipers.
I thought I'd use the larger ones, thinking "Bigger is Better". They Don't fit the brackets. I know this for a fact. I'm lucky enough to work in a Auto Parts Store, so I got to play with it a little. The older Caddy calipers with parking brakes are getting hard to find, so if you're not needing that option, go with the GM front calipers. I had to go with the Caddy calipers in order to meet the Parking Brake requirement. You can still get the Caddy calipers, but the parking brake arms and hardware are rare.
As far as the GM/Chevy caliper issue, back that far they're all the same, but like I said, they make 2 different size pistons. Most of the rear disc conversion kits are using the smaller piston calipers. A-1 Cardone part # is 18-4124 & 18-4125. These are the small piston calipers. Available from Oreilly or Parts City.
Try to use a kit that uses the smaller caliper if you can... the larger calipers are very expensive and the 'bits and pieces parts' are extremely hard to find.
it comes with a parts list, so im guessing you could use the numbers of at least the calipers to get the pad numbers...its all ray bestos parts i believe besides the flange.
Search hardoffroad on ebay. They sell a complete kit for under $300 and shipping is included. If you want an ebrake the kit costs a couple of hundred more.
