It's funny, in all the shops I've been in, machinists I've talked to, anyone related to the automotive industry here in metro New York, I've never heard a distributor called a dizzy until I got on FTE.
I still won't use the term when dealing with the locals
i first heard the term "Dizzy" here as well.. i would not normally use it.
as for pumpkin, that's like a "good ole boy" as in "country pumpkin", right?
back to teh truck. new wired and dizzy cap arrived today. hopefully this puts her back in good running order tomrrow.. maybe a track trip soon if it feels good.
I do not drive mine enough to keep the moisture out of the cap, corrosion problem. I have a habit of cleaning the electrode post and checking the mech advanced before I ever start it up. With the MSD high energy ignition system, it's pretty hard on caps. With the MSD6 don't make the mistake of not disabling it while your work on it. After seeing mine bridge a 2" gap I stay clear of it. I have a neuro-stimulator implant and do not want to get it knocked out. So I'm extra careful.
well, either the new wires or the new cap fixed the miss :-) she's running good again. may need a track trip in the future. The boy got his first ride in the truck today. He seemed to like it. It makes his sister run away crying...women??
My 7 year old daughter is more excited about the old F250 than anything else I have...she absolutely loves that Luke Bryan song "We Rode in Trucks," too! Maybe thats why, dunno.
