Air bag setup?

I was thinking ahead for my airbag setup for my 55 f1. Does anyone have a idea where to buy and what kind to use, tank, pumps etc... It will be set up on MII up front and four link out back. Thanks RT

Lots-O-Ads in Rod & Custom Magazine for the different suppliers. (ART) Air Ride Technologies is the big supplier and has an effie as a calling card. He (they) used the effie in the Americruise 2 years back. Most of the Mii suppliers and manufacurers have air stuff as well. Just some ideas as a start.

the brand of the kit isn't all that important, and you will come out ahead buying the components seprately, as for installing, they are almost bolt in, i will work up a component and vendor list once i get the boss off my back

Hi RT
Everyone here is giving good advice. You have to shop around until you find the features and price you like. I went with Air Ride Technologies parallel 4 link with shockwave airbags for the rear and Fatman Fab MII with Air Ride Technologies shockwave airbags for the front. The shockwave bags are very pricey in my opinion, but they sure are sweet. Here is Air Ride's link. http://www.ridetech.com/
These are the kits that I am using. My biggest recommendation is to buy a controller that incorporates ride height sensors. These will keep a constant ride height by adjusting individual bag pressures to maintain a constant user adjustable ride height, maintaining your stearing geometry to what you adjusted when you did your wheel alignment. Air Ride makes one with ride height sensors but I didn't like the looks of their controller interface. Dakota Digital has one that has the same funtionallity as Air Ride but will look a lot nicer when installed. They also make a climate controller that matches the looks of the ride height controller and works with Vintage Air Gen II air conditioning system. Here is their link. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd131.htm

Take a look at www.vtkustoms.com/AirKits.html seems like some good prices to me, I think I'm going to order my tanks from them. I already have the bags and compete front setup, may even order the compressors from them also.

I got most of my stuff from suicidedoors.com - I got my airbag brackets, bags, etc. here... they fabricate parts for minitrucks, but the majority of the parts are universal. Their prices are great, their quality is great, and their customer service rocks.
They don't varry the Mustang II front ends, but they have the bags, lines, valves, compressors, tanks.... etc, etc.

good sites there guys, if you cant afford shockwaves, slam specialties makes a great bag, an re7 is more than enough for a effie, and if you can squeeze an enginge driven compressor go for it, if not viair is the best 12 volt

not really an engine driven you will constantly have to be draning your oil trap and an oasis is the best electric compressor but very expensive i am going to be running two viair 480 to fill a 7 gallion tank which will take about 12 min from 0psi and to go from 160psi to 200psi it will take about 2 min, the slam bags will be a little over kill and a harder ride, you could use the firestone 2600 which have the same dimesions and give a little bit of a smother ride

yes oasis is the greatest 12v, but you can get an oiler for a edc and not have to worry about it, i enjoyed the slam bags i had on my magnum, but the firestones are good bags as well
