47,000 km's and the tranny in my F150 gave out, thank god for warrenty, but the dealership needs my truck till the 15th.............
They had to order a tranny in and its not going to arrive till at least the 14th.
This sucks! Thank god for Mieka's new Ranger or I'd be totally screwed
This doesn't give me much faith in the durability of this F150, hope this is only a one time thing.....
yes, but when i hear of problem, especially tranny problems, its all too often on a vehicle that has had a tuner on it where the person has adjusted shift points and firmness. i hope i'm not offending Xplicit here, my gut tells me that i don't want to buy a tuner. common sense will tell you that larger tires offer more strain on the system.
yeah many of them you can change the shift points and the shift firmness as well. i've did a pile of reading on them, but while i need to depend on 1 truck as my DD i think i'll stay away from them.
A lot of dealers won't even honor the warranty if they find out modifications have been made!
My sister's Tranny went on her Escape when she was driving through Regina a couple of tears ago and Bennett gave her a new f150 supercrew 4X4 as a loner for three weeks while her Escape was waiting for a tranny!
Increasing shift firm and quick shifting is better in some ways for an automatic, less slippage with less heat build up and less wear.
My 67 Mustang C6, for some reason, has an extra firm shift since it was rebuilt, I love it. It shifts quite different from my other vehicles, not noticable under light driving but under even moderate accelleration it`s noticeable.

This had crossed my mind about tuners but it all depends on the dealership, some are real hard to get along with.
Guess Bennett is a good one to deal with in Regina.
