Uh oh time to swap!!

Ok all you know it all's.... i have some questions for you.. i have a 95 F150 with a 351 auto (dont know what kind)4x4.. im only 17 but i do know that when your engine blows smoke and knocks that it is time to do something.. this motor hasnt been touched, and it has 233,028 miles on it!! mostly highway miles. but i was wondering if it was possible to drop a big block 460 or 427 with out welding new motor mounts and n*gerriggin everything (sorry about that) i mostly prefer one that i can yank out and drop one in fairly easy. i know that my dad had a 95 F250 4x4 460 5spd blue/silver and that thing hauled #####!! i used it to pull our 32ft gooseneck with a backhoe on it.. my god i was amased. No c*evy could do that! i know that they get poor gas milage but i am going into the construction busness and i know im going to need some power later on.. if any one can give me the run down on how to get it to work i would apprecieate it.

95 F150, 4x4, 351 4sp auto, 4in superlift lift, custom exhaust, 16x10 baha american racing wheels, 32x12.50 Wild Country RVT. Pioneer Cd Player, 600 watt fosgate amp pushing 2 10" polk subs,
cb with dual firestick whips, phew enough money already!

I realize you're just a kid but I find that term and the attitude that goes with it pretty offensive. I suggest you clean it up if you want to get any help here.

Anyway, yeah.
If Im not mistaken, there are various kits that allow a 460 to be swapped in place of the 351 in that chassis/truck.
Snoop around.. try mail order catalogs such as Summit, Jegs, PAW, etc.

Good luck!

well, you should be able to just use 95 f350 mounts for a 460 on the truck and you'll have to get a new tranny for it since the one from the 351 wont bolt up. as for if you want a manual, i think you'll have to go with a zf from a 350 witha 460 and 5 spd, or you'll have to do some serious fabrication(all f series use a hydraulic clutch and most aftermarket suff uses a cable style). but as for power, you ought to be able to get a ton from the 351...can we say lightning manifold, big fat cam and a vortech? and you'd get better mileage and you could use the tranny you have. but good luck,
mike
