302 vs 460 in gas mileage?????help!

>From your posts, it sounded like
>you WERE dissin on trucks,
>because of your lack of
>care toward efficiency.

i guess it all depends upon your definition of efficiency doesn't it? first, and correct me if i'm wrong, you don't even own a truck right? secondly, i build and drive big 4x4's because not every one can. and those people who do understand what i'm saying. it cost alot of money to build one and even more to keep it on the road. and if someone is worried about 1 or 2 more miles out of a gallon of gas, then as i said, they need to sell their truck and buy a honda, because gas is not going to get any cheaper. thirdly, big 4x4's are not efficient. they guzzle gas, pollute the air, tear up the ground when off the road, if you build em right, they're loud, obstructive and i would have em no other way.

>gas prices, and even more
>unwilling to give up our

>care to get a little
>more out of every dollar
>that we put into it?

as i said, you better deal with it, cause it's only going to get worse.

>us may not be rich
>up the #####, and that
>we cannot afford to simply
>"put more in when the

then what do you do? push it or park it?

302 vs 460 in gas mileage?????help!

Im through with this. I can see now that such simple, petty minds as yours are not fit for me to be arguing with, simply because you must always be correct..
To correct you, I own 2 trucks, one 1979 F150, all stock, which I use for hauling stuff around, and a 1974 Jeep J20, which I go and have fun in. The J20 has a 360/TH400, and offroads like none other. It IS big, noisy, and "obstructive" as you call it, and it's great. It ALSO gets 16 miles/gallon.
I guarantee you, it's nice to be able to pass up a gas station once in a while, while still having all the fun in the world.

If you want to use high rpm rock crawling, have at it. You might change your tune after the third clutch or tranny. There's more to the world then mud you know.

If you drive around on 38's (chances are they're not All Terrains) replace them every 5,000 miles, have big blocks and don't care about gas mileage) plus the insurance you have to pay ..... Sounds like you have more money then I do. Pardon me if I might want to save $10 a week. Or do you have a Honda hiding somewhere that you haven't mentioned

where did the rock thing come from???? not that it matters, playing on the rocks is not my thing. now a little bourbon every now and then on the rocks is ok. i prefer a big nasty mud hole.

swampers and boggers are the only tires i run. would never even consider anything else.

don't know or care about your finacial situation. and as i said before, it takes alot of money to build a truck, and even more to keep it on the road. and no i don't have a honda, my wife drives a new seville sts, i don't really care for cars too much.
