Welcome to the forum, there is a lot of great advice here. As for the steering there are a few fixes that you can try:
Helwig sway bar
Steering gear adjustment to tighten steering
Check the tie rod and other vital linkage by putting the truck on jack stand (on the frame) and checking for loose parts on the front end. Grabbing the front tires on the top and bottom / sided to side and moving will check for a lot of problems.

Did ur ex come with tow mirrors? THe reason i ask is because the tow mirrors where in the tow package. That would mean that ur truck didnt come with a sway bar. And their for u need one and that will keep ur truck from goin all overthe road.

2WD never came with a rear sway bar.
More than likely the alignment settings are off. But Bryans link to the steering gear adjustment is an easy check & fix and doesn't cost anything.
How's your tire wear? Even?

Sway bar is the way to go for starters. Not all tow packages with the X came with sway bar. I had my uy put in a custom F450 sway bar fro cheaper then the helwig,but many folks on here will say helwig is the way to go when it comes to the sway bar. Do not buy F250 OEM sway bar what ever you do.
