Yes it is a turbo. I looked at the Thrush turbo and the Cherry Bomb turbo and both had smaller tubing diameter inside. The raptor is full diamater through and through. Love it. I don't recommend the Dynomax turbo I put on the Aerostar as it sounds kind of funky with all the packing, kind of like it's muffled through a bunch of cotton. Raptor definitely has a nice sound. Check out the other Flowtech offerings at Holly's website.
The Flowtech Terminator is neat. Has two tubes that are offset inside with no third tube. Not a turbo, not quite straight through. Bet it sounds good. They told me the Raptor was their quietest Flowtech mufler.
I can tell you one now that you mentioned the stacks. Run 20-in glasspack but put it as far from the header as you can befor the split/or turn for the stacks. I had this set-up on an off-brand with a 235 and dual collector header back for a year or 2 when I wore a Bowtie. Wasn't too load when idle or cruisin but would perk-up an old dogs ear when you got in it. Those strait-6's with stacks man they sound good too
dont use a muffler.. its too quiet as it is... right now im running just the efi manifolds into a blown out glasspack. its straight through so no popping. i got it turned down right after the cab.. not too loud... im puttin on the clifford headers as soon as i getr my tax return.. trust me. straight pipe is the way to go... it gives a mean growl..
hahaha the 300 is the quietest truck ive ever heard.. going from the headers to the tailpipe my truck is... efi manifolds, high flow cat, gutted glasspack. and trundown. my brothers z71 chevy has super 44 turndowns and thats it and his truck whoops my trucks *** in the sound department. bottom line its quiet. no worries
