a quickie never cost me that much... i've had quotes in the 2500-3000 range for my '83, including patch and paint. professional guy, seems real reasonable!!
$2,500-3,000 is very reasonable for a quality body job but there`s a big $ difference between redoing an 83 and a 51....Most body shops won`t touch an older labour intensive resto, too costly and lack of properly trained personal.
that is true. i think with the right tools, time and patience a guy could do a decent job on his own steam. i have neither time nor patience for painting of any sort, so when its done it'll be done right and by a guy who knows what he's doing.
I would do that in a sec! Rebuild that 351, do a little bit of work to it, run er at around 300 horse or so. Get a nice chrome kit for the engine so it wouldnt look so plain jane in there. That would be a hot little truck.
the langham '53 that we all discussed last year had a 351C in it. i still think i should have went and looked at it, but oh well. Prep, i think you'd still have a decent deal if it cost you a couple g's to get it to your door. these things are getting more and more hard to find!!
