Thanks DAVE!! Those were the 2 sender units I was looking at. Temp light switch, what does that do? Does the "engine" light below the speedometer work with that? My "engine" light comes on at idle somtimes and I don't know why it would light up. I know that when I added the oil pressure gage but left off the original sender and ford gage the light lit up but after adding a "t" it doesn't light up as much except at idle. The pressure gage shows plenty of pressure at idle and running down the road. Again THANKS DAVE!!
You might try cleaning the block ground. The engine light is just a temp switch. It comes on when it senses coolant temp over ??? degrees. I think it's 220 degrees?
Well I finally got to change the Ford Temrature gage to an after market real gage. I've run it for 2 days and the gage stays between 180 and 185. No dropping like the original. Time will tell if a long ride makes a difference. Till then everything looks good. I was going to "T" it so i could tell if anything went wacko but it doesn't look like there is enough room for a "T".
Well it's been a little over a month and the new temp gage seems to tell a different story than the original gage. It takes a little longer to warm up but once it warms up there isn't the variations like with the original Ford gage. No more dropping like it used to to the cold side and it stays around 185 to 190 all the time once it warms up.
