You can do anything you want.. we both live in free countrys. I bet what you're asking is if you rebuilt the motor to run now with EFI, would you have to change anything to run a carb later. The answer is no, except of course you have to bolt-on a carb and intake, an ddrop in a distributor of your choice.

watch out for the efi i ordered a reman for my truck they sent me a fuel injected block and my intake wouldnt line up for the bolts and they had to send me one set up for carberation. I could be wromg but it was a mechanic and me trying to get it to work and it wouldnt go

I would have found a new mechanic. Only the 460's got EFI specific heads.

3rd the opinion..............no difference in small block heads for EFI vs carb. Even the EFI cams work better with a carb.

well i dont know what the problem was but when you go and try to put the bolts in and there are no holes for them to go into it seems to me that is a problem theres only one way an intake can go on and no its not the mechanic because this mechanic builds ford engines and no matter how we tried it there were no holes for the intake to line up with. maybe it was the wrong engine or something i dont know all i know is it wouldnt line up and the company had to take my core engine rebuild that one and sent it back to me

I looked at your profile....this wouldn't happen to be the carbed 351w your swapping in to where an EFI 5.0 used to be

yes i swapped out the 302 for the 351w but the 351 i started with blew up about 300 miles after i swapped them then thats when i ordered the remaned 351 that wouldnt line bolt holes for the intake. mabey they sent me the 302 instead of the 351 i ordered
and thats why it didnt work. because when we called them after it was delivered they said we dont have a 351w so we have to take your old one and get it back to you.

a 351W intake wont even come close to bolting up to a 302 5.0 block/heads.

what intake are you tring to use... is it the one you have from the 351 you were running??? If so does it have the thermostat housing attached to it?
