OK, i just finished checking the glow plugs with a test light, 6 of the plugs were good ( bright light ) 2 were completly dead, #1 & # 5, one on each side of engine. I would like to change only the bad ones at this time, have any of you done this? do i have to change them all? There is one plug on eack side that i would have to remove fuel lines to get to them, luckily the bad ones are accessable.
Be carefull when removing ther GPs if they turn out easy fine any resistance stop and ask some questions.........if Autolite GPs were used they will swell and tips will be torn off, usually causing a head removal. Only use Beru/Motorcraft ZD9 in your 93 F350 AZone has them.....
Ok, got the new plugs but something seems strange to me, the tips are already blue they look like they have been used before, is this normal? could this be from testing? also the word beru is nowhere to be found on packaging, they came in a sealed plastic bag that says motorcraft ZD9 F2TZ-12A342-A
Does it say "Made in Germany" on the plastic bag that the glow plug is in? If so, they are most likely Beru plugs. The ones I bought recently said Beru on them.
I think the blueish tint on the tip is normal. They are probably pre-tested before packaging.
