Finally got the garage cleaned up enough to have room to work on the truck again. I have a nice set of driver Cragers with a 5-1/2" bolt pattern for the rear and will likely go to 9" rearend some day. I am strongly considering switching to a 4-1/2" bolt pattern for the front discs as its so much easier to find the Cragers I need to complete my set.
Anyone have advice as to why I should not have different bolt patterns on the truck?
Besides the obvious 2 spares or adapter requirement. I'm a little worried it will be too noticable and the front wheels won't look like they match the rear.
other then carrying to spare tires i can't think of one . if and when i switch mine over to discs and dual master i'm gonna stay with 5 1/2 just because of that fact and oh yeah two different sets of lug nuts .

I have 5 x 4 3/4 in front and 5 x 5 1/2 on the rear. If I decide to carry a spare I will also carry an adapter (which I already have).
IM running the car pattern with a disc brake conversion. I put a 68 Mustang 8" in mine. I seem to always have a stockpile of Ford small pattern rims so I wanted that.
I went ahead and stayed with the 5 on 5 1/2 on my 49 when I did the disc brake swap. Its just easier for me to remember that way.
Lord knows I have tons of other little weird parts from all sorts of makes and models that I need to try and keep track of.
You could always have your rear axles redrilled to the smaller bolt pattern to match the front. (or swap the axles out for ones with the car pattern)
