I have a 94 F350 with a 460 and 5 speed, when under a load the motor feels like it is missing horribly. Runs great at cruise speed around 55. At different sppeds it will do it and at different throttle inputs, also it does not matter whether it is hot or cold.
It may be missing then. When did you tune it up last? Did you use cheap plugs and wires? If it is under load then the spark plug gaps could be to wide or actually have bad wires. I had this problem on a 4.0L Explorer. At idle nothing, cruising nothing but as soon as I put a load on the engine........miss fire. If you have not tuned it in a while,I sugest new plugs, wire set, cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter. Make sure you buy good parts not cheap stuff.
Drove the truck to work today and it was fine after two days of sitting.
Tune up was done less than 500 miles ago and included,
Motorcraft plugs and wires
Msd coil
Msd cap and rotor
Fram fuel and air filter.
I am going to try to pull codes tomorrow, but as of right now it completely stopped doing it all together. (drove 50 miles round trip.) I will post again tommorow with the codes I get.
