Audiophile
and I agree about running wires, and would have done it if i was gonna run a big 4ch amp, but so far I only have a 40w rms (75max) old alpine amp... Plus I did that in the mustang and hated doing 2 doors, didn't wanna do 4 doors in the truck, that would have sucked :P
I don't do my own installs. I usually take whatever I have to a local car audio store and have them do it. I'm too nervous about breaking something. On ebay I can get a couple of JL Audio 10W1's for $20 a piece which isn't bad. I know they are low end JL's but I'm not looking for much. I'm also looking at a custom box for $75. I'll upgrade the door speakers one set at a time. I'm not sure about amps yet.

check out www.supercrewsound.com for a box. they make the boxes with the biggest top mount depth, which is a big problem for these trucks (too little space). make sure the JLs will fit in that 75 dollar box that you're eyeballing, and if they don't, pick up the supercrewsound one, and make sure they don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping on ebay (ebay stores are known for that, set the item price low and charge 3x the shipping).
I'm gonna be ordering a box soon and fill it up with 2 JBL 1004D's; they seem to be right in between W1s and W3s, on paper...
I'd highly recommend doing it yourself, there's not much you can break to be honest, especially as long as you do your research first
