1990 351w

1990 f150 with 351w running really rough with no power... I pulled the plugs and two of them are really wet and have gas dripping off of them???At the last race the muffler on that side fell off, could that have messed something up?? and the motor smokes really bad only out of the muffler on that side...

Welcome to the site. You will find a lot of knowledge here. I realy doubt the muffler would cause this issue. First off, you should see if any codes are stored. A compression check and a fuel pressure check should be at the top of your list. It sounds like you are either getting too much fuel (bad regulator) or are burning oil. I would suspect the regulator first. I had the same problem until I replaced mine. Hope this helps.

Start with the basics. Do a compression check and test and/or replace the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. If you are getting a healthy spark on all cylinders then you may want to look at the fuel system

Umm, I think he said he had two plugs wet with fuel? Any chance the fuel pressure regulator let go and is dumping fuel in the intake?

Are these 2 wet plugs firing at all? Pull the plug wire off, stuff another plug in and touch it on the block while the motor is cranked. If they do fire then you may have injectors stuck open on those cylinders, or damaged pistons that don't build any compression. What was the thing about racing anyway?

Sounds like a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator like Old_Paint said.

If the FPR was leaking and dumping fuel into the intake via the vacuum lines there's no reason to think it would restrict itself to just 2 cylinders on one bank, it would cover both banks equally.

Just pull the vacuum line off the top of it while the engine is running.. if gas come squirting out it's toast.

I think it's time for the compression test as Paul suggested
