I have purchased an 00 Dually and I am wondering if it has traction control. I have read on here about hooking up a tc lockup switch but I couldn't find any info when I searched.
How can I figure out if my truck has traction control?
Thanks in advance

The tc lockup switch has to do with the trannsmission Torque Converter lockup...nothing to do with traction. I am almost certain that positraction was standard on dually's...it is nearly worthless anyway.

my posi-traction work good, the clutches went out about 6 years ago at less than 20k miles and instead of repairing ford replaced the whole carrier assembly

Mine works alright (for a posi unit), just that a lot of people have posted that they find them about worthless. I'm so use to "lockers" that posi just doesn't cut it and if I ever have to replace the carrier on mine, it is going to be a locker unit.

Yours is probably the same as my 99 dually and it comes with an optional 4.10 Ratio Limited Slip Axle. There should be a metal tag under one of the bolts that states the type of rear end.. mine says 1-10 10 .
I just found the tag and all I couldn't really make anything out although I did see a 4
I am sure I have a4.10 rear but don't know about the Limited Slip.
Is there any other way to tell if I have LImited Slip?
Yes, go look at the certification plate. The Certification Plate can be located on the lock face of the left door edge. If it has under the word Axle F2, then you have a 4.10 with limited slip differential.

Yep.. that is exactly what mine says.. F2 and according to my data sheet on the truck, i do have a optional 4.10 limited slip rear end..
I can't seem to find my certification plate.
I have a ext.cab truck and I have searched the entire faces of both sides and the short doors too.
I only found an emission sticker.
I wonder if there has been some damage to the door at some point, maybe repalced?
Can i find out if I have Lsd by the vin number?
I don't think you can by the VIN...but I would think that Ford could work backwards to the build based on your VIN. As Ray and I have said earlier, I am almost certain that limited slip 4.10 were stock on dually trucks.

Its the unit in the SRW (sterling 10.5) that is worthless. I dont know for a fact, but Im sure as the DRW get a dana 80, they probably also get a different positraction. Been wrong before though.
