Need some more advice: i currently have a banks 4" monster exhaust system on on my 2003 f250 6.0 CC. in my opinion it really is a quiet exhaust system, which is ok for some i understand. I am looking for a muffler that will create a little more agressive sound. What are most guys running to create a little more muscle sound from their 6.0L's? any advice will help. Trying to get a little more sound like you might hear from a gas V8 rumble or growl.
Most just take it out, and replace with regular pipe. It won't be obnoxiously loud(shouldn't offend the neighbors), but you will hear it when you press the pedal.
I have a BullyDog 4" on my 06 6.0L. When I first got the system it came with a muffler that was mostly a 6"can with a single baffle 3/4 of the way back. That single baffle had 2 large holes and 2 smaller holes in it. That muffler made the truck sound like it had an old 460 in it and very low grumble. I wanted it so sound like my old 7.3 that I put a BullyDog kit in so I call the guys and they said they have two different models of mufflers. The on I just but on was one type the other is basically a 4" hollow pipe down the center with small bent baffles/slits. (by small I mean 1/4" to 3/8") That is what I had on my 7.3. BullyDog sent me a new muffler as an RMA for the old one and now I get my 7.3 aircraft carrier sound I was looking for. Guess it just depends on your preference. FYI BullyDog have been great to work with. If you are looking for the low bass sound just tell them you want the exhaust kit with the baffle in the center.
I went with a 4" turbo back MRBP exhaust. Love the way it sounds; idle to 1800 rmps it sound like a jet taking off and above 2000 rpm it rumbles like a big block gasser.
I third that! MBRP mufflers sound awesome. I cut out the cat and am only running a muffler which is hardly a muffler. It whistles pretty good at idle and I get a really good grumble at higher rpm. I LOVE getting onto the freeway.
