Greetings...got my truck about a year ago and haven't had any starting problems. Today I was out running errands and at one of my stops I got into the truck, stepped on the clutch, turned the key, and nothing. No clicking, no turning over, but the interior lights and gauges were working. After numerous turns of the key, and about 5 minutes, it turned over and started normally. I have a new battery, recently replaced the fuel filter, and tried both fuel tanks when this happened. When this was happening, the battery gauge on the dash acted wacky...once the truck started everything worked fine. This happened at two other stops on my trip, but a few turns of the key and it eventually started. Later this afternoon, I took the truck to Advance Auto and they checked the battery and alternator, both of which checked out good.
My first thought was the clutch safety switch, but I kept the clutch depressed when it wouldn't start...kept it depressed until it did start....then turned the truck back off (without lifting off the clutch) and tried to restart and...nothing. So much for the sticking switch idea.
could still be the clutch safety switch...mine did exactly as you described...it was intermittent until the day it completely crapped out...hope you figure it out soon.
the spade connector will give you the blues-until you figure it out!!!I had to replace a small section of the wire as well-mechanic replaced trans and had wires too close to exhaust!!!
