Hello. I have been looking for a somewhat used superduty. Yesterday I saw a 2005 king ranch f350 dually with the v10 and essentially every available option except the dvd or moon roof. It has 51,000 miles on it and they want 29,000 for it. what do you guys think is it worth it? the truck looks perfect I could not find a dent, scratch or other problem anywhere. oasis is clean?
well I checked the nada like you said and it comes in at 29,625 so I guess it is priced pretty close, but I think I can get it a bit cheaper. I am a bit concerned about 54,000 miles on that v10, I know they can easily go 100,000 but still for a new truck for me that I will have to finance that is a stretch. I have really been looking for a diesel but reading this forum a lot of people have suggested the v10. it is really a sweet truck quiet, plenty of torque. man am I tempted. I think I will try to talk them down to 25000 then we will see.
I have a 6.0l diesel and a V-10 both and love them both. The 6.0L is more maintenance intensive and the V-10 I think is less trouble in cold weather. The only advantage of the 6.0L is the pulling ability. But even then I still like my V-10.
Offer them at least $2500.00 less than they are asking. You want to find their "walk away" price. That is when you make a low offer and they counter offer and you hold your ground. If they let you walk away, you have found the lowest price that they will sell the truck for.
The V10 is a great engine but when you go to trade it in, dealers don't want them.
Believe me, they don't have anywhere near $29,000. in that truck. They probably gave the previous owner around $23,000 for that truck.
