Two major styles are manual clutch and hydraulic clutch. If the tranny you are choosing is the 5 speed zf, then I believe it requires the hydraulic setup, with the master cylinder.

I would like to make it as o.e style as possible so I think it would be hydrolic, if any body knows what years to look for downer truck. and if the pedal ***. would be the same in a half ton. I also heard that the trans. has to be from diesel, gas zf,s were different is this correct?

You'll need a pedal set from a 92-96 F150/F250LD 92-97 F250HD/F350.
Trans needs to be from a diesel, it has it's own bellhousing pattern.

ZF for diesel has a different set of gear ratios. I don't know on the bolt pattern, I thought they were the same. You will need a hydraulic clutch setup to complete the install. Also the ZF uses a Dual-Mass flywheel that some here have swapped out for a "normal" flywheel. Search the forum for their experiences on that. I am contemplating swapping out my T-19 for a ZF as well an have looked into this a bit. Some of the clutch system pieces may be dealer only but you should be able to source most of it at your local parts house. Good luck!
