1987 heater core

what kind of job is it to replace the heater core on 1987 ranger w/o a/c.someone said it is tuff on ranger without a/c.

Would like to know this also, when I presurre tested my cooling system area, I saw fluid leaking

heater core

Well, my 88 was very easy. But it had A/C. 3 or 4 screws under the glove box, two hoses at the firewall and you're done.

A/C or not they will be easy. You pull the heater core from the pass side floor area. There will be a few screws in the plastic duct work access door, maybe a piece of felt covered plastic but I didn't have one. Pull the screws, undo the hose clamps under the hood and pull the core. Slip the replacement back in, put the hoses and clamps on and put the access cover on. If you should be able to do this without very much coolant loss. I've done about a half dozen of these in the past few years.
