OK - I've had my 01 Supercrew for about 3 weeks and love it. I was a little worried about buying one due to the number of scary posts about changing plugs (lol) but I'm over that now having been completely converted/blinded by the joy of driving my new truck.
However, I would like to make the best use of my money and many of you have lots more experience on what really matters when upgrading your trucks. My feeling is that it is better to save up and buy something that really makes a difference than to just jump at the first thing the money in my pocket can afford. With that said, here's the question...
What would be the two or three most valuable upgrades to increase performance (and possibly mileage - in other words I don't want to "execute" mileage) and handling? If you could only do a couple of things, where would you put your money?
I'm not looking to go racing, or lots of off-roading, I just want a dependable, good truck. I also know that the basics of changing oil and filters is one of the best things for meeting my goals.
Don't want to start a agument here, but cold air intakes do nothing for you.
Yes, I will agree they do make more horsepower at full throttle, but that is not usable horsepower. Just my 2 cents.
I've already got a programmer. So, my list would include a good e-fan kit, and true dual exhaust. The last thing on the list would be a true cold air intake kit to replace the K&N drop in filter that I currently have.
I've got the exhaust,K&N and Superchips programer. The programer was last. It seem to make the most improvment. But then again maybe it just waking up the other the other add-ons.
Efans and a tuner will give the most noticeable increase in power. Although it is best to do all your mods first then have a tuner made with a tune for all your mods.

haha... can't help ya there... I did the complete opposite. Lift it, throw bigger tires on it. All my upgrades killed mileage.
actually, I'd agree with these guys, tuner, exhuast is a good start. Then maybe e-fans after that.
How about turning the lid for the air cleaner upside down and putting on a Cherry Bomb Muffler? Worked for us kids back in the 60's....(just kidding) ...How about a Tornado for a quick 20 plus HP? (kidding again)
